Atom Consulting provide facilitation of technical workshops. We use an integrated facilitation approach, with a lead facilitator supported by a recorder to ensure the best possible outcomes from each workshop. Bringing key stakeholders together benefits a project through many stages of its lifecycle. Whether required by approval authorities or as a tool to improve design outcomes, a workshop facilitated by Atom Consulting leads to improved communication and understanding for the client and the design team.

The Atom Consulting team has a well-established risk assessment workshop methodology based on ISO 31000 principles. Atom Consulting offers facilitators experienced in the Australian water industry, with delivery of drinking and recycled water quality risks assessments to over 40 organisations, covering nearly 100 systems. Our experience in planning workshops means we have a strong understanding of issues likely to emerge during the workshop.

Atom Consulting have expertise in the auditing of statutory and certified risk management plans, developing utility risk management plans, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) consultation and development. Our staff are experienced auditors who have undertaken operational licence audits for Hunter Water and Sydney Catchment Authority on behalf of IPART. Dr Annalisa Contos, Steven Contos and Natalie Crawford are certified Exemplar Global Water Quality Management Auditors.

Atom Consulting staff have extensive experience in water supply systems and can use this knowledge to assist water utilities and private water suppliers to enhance their operations and the development and implementation of their drinking water management systems. We were previously engaged by NSW Health to develop the NSW Guidelines from Drinking Water Management Systems published by NSW Ministry of Health.

Atom Consulting team has a strong technical, economic and regulatory understanding of recycled water. Our recycled water capability extends from development of policy; review of legislative frameworks; strategic planning; asset planning; risk assessments; design and delivery. Atom Consulting developed and engaged with the NSW Office of Water to prepare the NSW guidance for the development of recycled water management systems and information sheets to support utilities develop these systems.

Atom Consulting staff have extensive experience in water and sewerage operations and treatment and can use this knowledge to assist local water utilities and private water supplier to enhance their operations. Atom Consulting have advised local water utilities on remedial actions required to bring treatment systems into compliance with regulations, developed procedures and advising of low cost methods to extend operational life of infrastructure.

Atom Consulting supports government agencies in policy development and implementation. We also provide advice on the implementation of regulatory instruments to industry bodies and water utilities. We have had previous engagement with the Australian Centre of Water Recycling Excellence to review the legislative context for direct and indirect potable recycling in non-metropolitan NSW and identify the possible approval pathways.

Atom Consulting provides a wide range of additional technical services. We can assist utilities or private water suppliers with the preparation of their incident and emergency response plans, technical reviews and documentation preparation services, research and development , technical guidelines preparation and support a wide range of training requirements.
